It’s been a long process but today I am uploaded the very first episode of “8-bit” in which I give a little history to the NES and then show you how to make a non-functioning NES a functioning NES.
Unfortunately due to my Mickey Mouse setup I am able to publish the highest quality video. The camera I used is an AVCHD camera and produces a pretty nice HD image. However My computer is an old P4 2.4Ghz computer which chokes on AVCHD. So I converted that footage to Microsoft AVI DV format. This effectively down-samples my 1080p video to 480p. It still maintains pretty good fidelity but the next step is where the trouble really presents itself. I rendered this completed project to 720p. It still looks pretty good but it’s lost some of it’s original luster and it’s a bit darker. I fear that once YouTube gets a hold of it it’s going to be even worse.
So, hopefully by the time I’m ready to cut the second episode, I’ll have a faster computer.
