TFICast 148: The Lifestyle Spiral

Jeremy and Erik revisit Jeremy’s revolution/revelation theory.  Erik expands the theory to include a lifestyle curve.  They try to map out the previous generation, the current generation and the new generation.  It’s then they realize they have no idea what the kids want.  Using seminars, training courses and personal observation they try to figure out what it is that the kids want.  All of this is then put back into Erik’s lifestyle spiral theory.

TFICast 144: the eBay Craigslist Consternation

Jeremy and Erik talk about the BBC version of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and the movie version of  Zaphods two heads.  Beer distribution inconsistencies are discussed such as Dog Fish Head Brewery and Yuengling (though Jeremy can’t remember that name).  Jeremy invents a new reality show focusing on Erik’s Children’s Resale shop.  Jeremy tells a story of selling an iPhone on eBay and Craigslist including the pitfalls therein.  Patent law, Disney, apple iProduct thievery and privatized prisons are all touched upon.  Finally the guys play a new game called identify Jeremy’s junk.

Jeremy and Erik talk about Christmas past and try to take the political correctness out of it.  Then they switch topics to Jeremy’s early Christmas present, a full size Ms. Pac-Man arcade game.

TFICast 142: CEO RPG

Jeremy and Erik toss back a couple of Black and Tan’s.  Jeremy admits that he voted for Ross Perot and attempts to layout his political position.  Erik reads predictions from the Nostrodamicon.  Jeremy wonders what a tractor pull is and is surprised when Erik knows the answer.  Lego demolition destruction derby’s are remembered.  The future of nuclear energy, conjecture and exaggeration to prove a point are hotly debated but is interrupted when a spider invades the podcast.  Attention is switched to inventing solar powered parking lot lights.  Erik references Gary Gygax and then invents capitalism the Role Playing game.  A little nostalgia is touched upon when Jeremy talks about making movies.

TFICast 141: Special Features

Jeremy and Erik discuss DVD outtakes.  In particular Erik is enamored with the Super Bad outtakes.  Aqua Bhudda, political let downs, Bud Select 55 and Erik’s gernerational connection with Super Bad are all discussed.  This leads Jeremy and Erik down the path of Parties in highschool and what their alternatives were.  Abruptly, Erik quizzes Jeremy on the details of a Simpsons diorama.  Once Jeremy fails the quiz Erik lays out the future of podcasts.  Then they try to figure out how the witches in the Wizard of Oz work in terms of who gets what direction (North, South etc).  Speaking of the Wizard of Oz, the topless Judy Garland outtake on the Wizard of Oz DVD is invented.  Finally they imagine what it would be like to confuse the comedy club for a strip club.  It is all here in this shortened, heavily edited, from the archives, somewhat disjointed episode of the Fundamental Interconnectedness of All Things podcast.

TFICast 140: Sharpening the Sword of Reality

Jeremy and Erik talk about how some NPR host used to slurp on NPR.  Erik predicts his Build-A-Bear at the Mall experience and then pontificates RFID chips in stuffed bears.  Jeremy gripes about losing tools.  Erik and Jeremy make fun of  Buyingtons magazine.  Then they talk about Thanksgiving foods and how Erik despises pecans and almonds.  Games such as Angry Birds, Mario, Pac-Man and Kick the Can are compared.  Finally, Erik sharpens the sword of reality.
